It's still several years away, but hang on to your hats as World Stamp Show-NY 2016 will be here before you know it! The exhibition takes place at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York City from Saturday, May 28 to Saturday, June 4, 2016. Dealers, exhibits, seminars, first day ceremonies, world-class auctions and much more await you!
Hundreds of thousands of postage stamps have been issued by countries around the world since 1840. That first stamp, issued by Great Britain and known as the "Penny Black," featured the effigy of a young Queen Victoria and started a craze known as the hobby of "philately." Millions of people then and now have been collecting these miniature works of art. They are nothing less than international ambassadors used on letters sent down the street and across the globe depicting the people, places and culture of their nation.
Wade E. Saadi, President of World Stamp Show- NY 2016, looks forward to welcoming more than 250,000 visitors to our great eight day event. "Stamp collecting is a great hobby the entire family can enjoy. Stamps are a rich and vibrant record of the world's cultural heritage," Saadi notes.
