The Republic of San Marino will be using these four masterpieces to commemorate the 150 years that have passed since the birth of the Austrian painter, Gustav Klimt. Four commemorative stamps designed by artist Davide Cheli, remind us of the styles and imprint left by the Viennese Secession whose central figure was Klimt, an artist who knew how to contribute with great incisiveness in defining an Austrian school that was amongst the most significant national variations of Art Nouveau. Soft, sinuous and elegant lines, bi-dimensional forms and particular colour combinations all render the ideal of Gesamtkunstwerk, i.e. a “total work of art”, which led the secessionist artists to design, paint and decorate within a vision of an all-embracing fusion of the arts. The Viennese Secession, above all in its painting, was not so much an express act of revolt against the art of the past, as an initiative designed to create art in Austria, an art which answered the needs of the time. Klimt was president of the Secession, he organised its first exhibition in 1898, wrote its manifesto and published the first issue of the magazine, Ver Sacrum, the Secession’s official organ through which Secessionist painters, stylists and architects laid the ground for “Secession-style” taste, above all in the field of graphics. 1862- 2012: a story which lives on in Galleries across Europe and now thanks also to this homage from the Philatelic Office of San Marino. AIJP The international association of the philatelic journalists and authors

The first international association of the philatelic press was, the FIPP (Federation International de La Press Philatelique) founded in Italy by Giulio Tedeschi in 1927. The members were informed about the specialist publications with almost 200 bulletins worldwide intil 1938. World conventions took place in Le Havre (1929), Antwerp (1930), Brunswick (1931), Vienna (1933) and in Brussels (1935). The political situation at the time and the Second World War prevented the further development of this early association.

As late as August, 20th, 1962 Pierre Séguy founded a follow up organisation, the AIJP at PRAGA 62. He ran this for many years. Under his his successors'presidencies it developed to a cross-border grouping that brought authors and philatelic journalists of all countries together. Today the AIJP unites specialised journalists, authors and publishers of philatelic literature (papers, books, catalogues).

The primary objectives of the AIJP are:

• peace and friendship and the true promotion of information.
• fight against fakes and speculation to protect philately
• promoting the interests of the journalists, authors and the philatelic press
• promoting the co-operation between the philatelic press, to translate articles and disseminate articles
• support the publication, the distribution and the sale of important philatelic literature
• securing the position of philatelic literature at exhibitions.

The AIJP works towards this with the international associations of philately (FIP, IFSDA, ASCAT) closely together and is partner in the WADP (World Association For The Development of Philately) in the UPU in the fight against illegal issue of postage stamps.          http://www.aijp.org

ΑΝΑΚΟΙΝΩΣΗ / ΠΡΟΣΚΛΗΣΗ

Η Ελληνική Ολυμπιακή Επιτροπή και η Eπιτροπή της για το Φιλοτελισμό, Νομίσματα & Αναμνηστικά Ολυμπιακών Αγώνων, σας προσκαλούν στη 18^η Διεθνή Συνάντηση Συλλεκτών Ολυμπιακών Ενθυμημάτων, που διοργανώνεται από 17 έως 20 Μαΐου 2012, στην Αθήνα, στο Ζάππειο Μέγαρο. Η Συνάντηση τελεί υπό την αιγίδα της Διεθνούς Ολυμπιακής Επιτροπής και διοργανώνεται σε συνεργασία με την Εθνική Ολυμπιακή Ακαδημία της Ελλάδας.

Σημειώνεται ότι η ημερομηνία εγκαινίων της διοργάνωσης συμπίπτει με την ημερομηνία διεξαγωγής της Τελετής Παράδοσης της Ολυμπιακής Φλόγας στην Οργανωτική Επιτροπή Ολυμπιακών Αγώνων του Λονδίνου, που θα λάβει χώρα στο Παναθηναϊκό Στάδιο.

Το Ζάππειο Μέγαρο, όπου θα φιλοξενηθεί η εκδήλωση, είναι άρρηκτα συνδεδεμένο με το Ολυμπιακό Κίνημα, καθώς είναι το πρώτο κτήριο διεθνώς που κατασκευάστηκε με σκοπό την κάλυψη αναγκών των Σύγχρονων Ολυμπιακών Αγώνων, που τελέστηκαν στην Αθήνα το 1896. Χτισμένο στο ιστορικό κέντρο της Αθήνας, περιβάλλεται από ορισμένα από τα πιο σημαντικά κτήρια και μνημεία της πόλης και βρίσκεται σε πολύ κοντινή απόσταση από το Παναθηναϊκό Στάδιο.

Κατά τη διάρκεια της διοργάνωσης, τα Ελληνικά Ταχυδρομεία θα λειτουργούν προσωρινό γραφείο στο Ζάππειο Μέγαρο.

Όλοι οι συλλέκτες που θα συμμετέχουν στη Συνάντηση θα έχουν την ευκαιρία, μεταξύ άλλων, να παρακολουθήσουν την Τελετή Παράδοσης της Ολυμπιακής Φλόγας, στις 17 Μαΐου, στο Παναθηναϊκό Στάδιο.

Επιπροσθέτως, περιορισμένος αριθμός διαπιστεύσεων για την Αφή της Ολυμπιακής Φλόγας, που θα γίνει στις 10 Μαΐου στην Αρχαία Ολυμπία, θα διατεθούν σε όσους δηλώσουν έγκαιρα τη συμμετοχή τους, στους οποίους θα δοθεί επίσης η δυνατότητα να επισκεφθούν τις εγκαταστάσεις της Ελληνικής Ολυμπιακής Επιτροπής στην Αρχαία Ολυμπία, όπου έχει την έδρα της η Διεθνής Ολυμπιακή Ακαδημία.

ΕΚΘΕΣΗ: «ΕΛΛΑΔΑ ΚΑΙ ΣΥΓΧΡΟΝΟΙ ΟΛΥΜΠΙΑΚΟΙ ΑΓΩΝΕΣ 1894 – 2012»

Ζάππειο Μέγαρο, 15-20  Μαΐου  2012

Στο πλαίσιο της 18^ης Διεθνούς Συνάντησης Συλλεκτών Ολυμπιακών Ενθυμημάτων, διοργανώνεται από 15 έως 20 Μαΐου, επίσης στο Ζάππειο Μέγαρο, έκθεση που θα αφορά στη συμβολή της Ελλάδας, μέσω τεκμηρίων, στους Ολυμπιακούς Αγώνες.

Στην έκθεση αυτή το κοινό θα έχει τη δυνατότητα να θαυμάσει από κοντά πολλά ολυμπιακά αναμνηστικά κατασκευασμένα ή φιλοτεχνημένα από Έλληνες δημιουργούς, καθώς και εκθέματα Ολυμπιακής Ιστορίας άμεσα συνυφασμένα με τη χώρα που γέννησε τους Ολυμπιακούς Αγώνες.

Η διοργάνωση τελεί υπό την Αιγίδα της Περιφέρειας Αττικής, του Υπουργείου Πολιτισμού & Τουρισμού, του Υπουργείου Παιδείας, Δια Βίου Μάθησης & Θρησκευμάτων, των ΕΛ.ΤΑ. και του Δήμου Αθηναίων.
